Many drugs need to be delivered slowly over an extended period of time. We built a microscope that provides chemically selective (CARS) imaging so that the diffusion of the drug can be visualized as it leaves the tablet. Improved imaging and characterization of the drug distribution inside the tabel and during the release will aid drug development.
